About Me
I was born near Los Angeles, California in June, 1979. At at age 18 I move to Arizona, but returned to California 15 months later after completing a technical degree in Architectural CAD Drafting. I spent the next 4 years living in Long Beach, working in Newport Beach, and attending college in Costa Mesa. In 2002 I changed my academic and career focus from architecture to business and returned to Arizona in 2003 where I’ve lived ever since. I attended Arizona State University and completed a Bachelors degree in Real Estate, certificate in entrepreneurship, and real estate license. Since 2004 I’ve been actively involved in almost every sector of the real estate industry including residential, commercial, retail, industrial, and land. The market fluctuations and economic challenges within the real estate industry from 2007 to 2009 were unprecedented, yet quite a learning experience. Thus far, I have held positions handling research, marketing, sales, business development, financial analysis, and property management. Today I find myself, in a period of transition, learning first-hand the specifics related to sales, marketing, and the management of luxury apartment rentals. I continue to operate several entrepreneurial ventures and micro-businesses through my company, Ryan’s Ideas, LLC. I’m always on the lookout for opportunities and partnerships with like-minded individuals.
Travel
I love to visit new places, especially dense urban cities, with culture, history, nightlife, energy, and great architecture. In the United States, New York, Boston, Chicago, and San Francisco are places that immediately come to mind. I’m not a big fan of their cold weather (hey, we’ve got it mad in the southwest), yet I love to visit them. There are still so many places on my travel list, but of the places I have been, my London & Dubai trip (2007) was certainly the most memorable. It was the trip of a lifetime (I can’t thank you enough Nick!)
Sports
I love most sports in general, but baseball is #1 in my book. Go Angels! Go Dodgers! I know, I know, everyone says I can’t root for both teams since they have some sort of fierce rivalry now- I just want to see an All-SoCal World Series! Can’t get enough of America’s Pastime! I’m also a fan of basketball (NBA & NCAA), soccer, volleyball, wake boarding, and snowboarding. When I get a chance to play sports I’m typically out there slugging away, diving head-first on a softball field, lifting weights in the gym, in a pool, at the beach, by river, lake, or flying down the side of a mountain covered in snow with a board strapped to my feet!
Entertainment
For me, nothing gets the blood pumping and energy levels up like a great DJ spinning the latest trance music at the hottest nightclub or major concert venue. Electronic music, dance, and the DJ culture has always been a part of my passion and taste in music. My favorites right now are #1 – Tiesto (A.K.A. the Michael Jackson of trance music), Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold, BT, Deadmau5, Kaskade, and many more! I’m also a fan of hip-hop, pop, rock, and pretty much anything with a good beat, unique style, or catchy melody. I’m also into movies, especially sci-fi (yep, the usual suspects… Star Wars, T2, The Matrix, Lord of the Rings, AI, District 9, and Avatar just to name a few).
